PURPOSE:To produce the titled compound in high efficiency, keeping high catalytic activity for a long period, in the reaction of a carboxylic acid ester or ether with carbon monoxide, by using a catalyst obtained by fixing a specific metal complex to a lamellar compound. CONSTITUTION:A catalyst prepared by fixing a metal complex coordinated with a polar compound to lamellar compound, is used in the reaction of a carboxylic acid ester or ether with carbon monoxide to obtain the titled compound. The lamellar compound is e.g. a phillosilicate such as montmorillonite, mica, etc. or inosilicate such as sepiolite, etc. The catalyst can be prepared in the form of a lamellar compound containing fixed complex ion, by dissolving the metal complex in a proper solvent to obtain a solution containing complex ion, and adding the solution to a lamellar compound thereby exchanging the cation existing between the lamellar lattices of the lammelar compound with the complex ion. |
