PURPOSE:To eliminate the necessity to retrieve a telephone directory by connecting automatically to the directory assistance board number 104 when an opposite party aimed to telephone, can not be retrieved. CONSTITUTION:When an operating part 13 is operated and a telephone number is retrieved, the telephone number is outputted from a central processing part 1 and displayed at a display part 5. When the telephone number aimed to telephone, is selected, the selected telephone number is called through a telephone line 6 by an automatic selecting signal transmitter 9 and connected mutually to capable-of-calling. When an equivalent telephone number is not displayed, the directory assistance board number 104 is automatically outputted from the central processing part 1, and connected to capable-of-calling mutually with a telephone directory assistance. When the telephone number is informed from the telephone number directory assistance, the voice is converted to a digital signal by a speech recognition part 14, inputted to a memory 12 of the central processing part 1, the telephone number is outputted to the automatic selecting signal transmitter 9 and connection and calling can be executed.
