PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of cracking in a brazed part by joining preliminarily a pipe member and the top end of a joint by brazing then joining the member and joint to a case by resistance welding. CONSTITUTION:The diameter D1 of an upper inserting part of the joint 11 is made smaller than the diameter D2 of a lower electrode receiving part and an electrode receiving surface 14 is formed as a tapered surface. The pipe member 3 and the inserting part 12 of the joint 11 are preliminarily brazed along the top end face of the inserting part to form the brazed part 15, by which a joint body 16 is prepd. The body 16 with the part 15 faced upward is inserted into the through-hole of the case 2 and the body 16 and the case 2 are resistance-welded via electrodes 3 and 14. Since the diameter D1 of the joint is made smaller than the diameter D2, the stress of the brazed part 15 in the stage of thermal shrinkage is weakened. The cracking of the part 15 is thus prevented.
