PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of the slip between a packed bed and the inner surface of a cell, by mounting a two-split cell having a uniform cylindrical inner surface on a cell stand movable to the axial direction and applying an equal pressure to a specimen from both ends through a plunger. CONSTITUTION:A two-split cell 1 receives a powdery specimen therein and is mounted on a cell stand movable to the axial direction of the cell 1. Plungers 4a, 4b are inserted in the cell 1 from both ends thereof and pressed internally by a press mechanism 5 to form a packed bed. Because the cell stand 3 is movable to the cell axial direction at the time of pressing, said stand 3 is moved to a position where pressing force by both plungers 4a, 4b becomes equal to determine the position of the cell 1. Therefore, the stress distribution in the packed bed is made left and right symmetric regardless of the amount of the specimen. When tensile force is applied to the packed bed by a tensile tester so as to separated cells 1a, 1b, the packed bed is necessarily broken at the abutted surface of the cells 1a, 1b by the presence of ring shaped thin plates 2a, 2b and no slip between the packed bed and the cells 1a, 1b is generated. |
