PURPOSE:To make a device small in size, to realize its low cost, and to solve transfer omission and back contamination of a transfer material, by using a separating destaticizer consisting of a destaticizing needle, and making an applied voltage lower than a voltage by which the destaticizing needle starts its self-electric discharge. CONSTITUTION:A separating device is a destaticizer 9 consisting of a destaticizing needle 9a attached to an insulator block 19 which has been placed by holding a necessary gap between said separating device and a photosensitive body 3. Also, a transfer electrifying device 8 holds a prescribed interval between the separating device and the photosensitive body 3, and a negative DC voltage is applied to a transfer wire 8a in a shield 8b from a transfer high-voltage power source unit 16. On the other hand, to the destaticizing needle 9a of the destaticizer 9, a positive DC high voltage is applied from a developing bias power source unit 21, a charge on a transfer paper of after transfer is destaticized and electrostatic adhesion to the photosensitive body 3 is erased, and the transfer paper is separated from the surface of the photosensitive body 3 by utilizing its dead weight and nerve. This applied voltage is made lower than a voltage by which the destaticizing needle 9a starts its self-electric discharge, and even in case when a thin paper is used as the transfer material, and even at the time when humidity is high, transfer omission and back contamination of the transfer material are prevented. |
