PURPOSE:To obtain a positive/negative inverting function and a contour extracting function by providing a light source for writing, two lenses, an image converting element, a light source for reading, a polarizer, and an analyzer. CONSTITUTION:An original is exposed to light from the light source 2 for writing and reflected light is converged on an image converting element 5 through a lens 3 and a half-mirror 4 to produce an internal electric field corresponding to an original image; and light from the light source 6 for reading is passed through the polarizer 7 and half-mirror 4 to illuminate the image converting element 5. When this projection light is passed through the analyzer 8, the projection light of the positive/negative inverted image of the original image or projection light of the extracted contour is obtained corresponding to a DC voltage V applied to the image converting element 5 by a DC power source 54, and then converged on the image formation surface 10 of a photosensitive body, etc., through a lens 9 to obtain the positive/negative inverted copy image or contour-extracted copy image. |
