PURPOSE:To effectively start a refrigerator by controlling to operate it by a quasi-sinusoidal AC output with chopping during a predetermined period from a start and by a rectangular AC output after the lapse of the predetermined period. CONSTITUTION:Chopping is performed during a predetermined period from the start of a compressor motor 6, i.e., until the frequency (f) of an output voltage waveform from an inverter waveform output unit 3 arrives, for example, at predetermined frequency f1 to convert the inverter output voltage waveform to a quasi-sinusoidal wave. Thereafter, the chopping is not performed, and the inverter output voltage waveform is converted to a rectangular wave. Thus, a compressor motor of large power load and a fan motor of a small power load can be simultaneously started, and a magnetic noise and a leakage current can be suppressed to the minimum limit. |
