PURPOSE:An antifungal agent useful for remedying infectious diseases with a fungus, having extremely low toxicity, containing ajoene separated from a garlic extract. CONSTITUTION:An antifungal agent containing ajoene which is obtained by repeated separation and purification of a garlic extract, has inhibitory action on blood platelet aggregation and is shown by the formula as an active ingredient. The antifungal agent is effective for remedying local fungus infection, mucosa infection or systemic fungus infection in mammals including human and also effective against plant mold blights caused by fungi. A dose of the antifungal agent is 10mg-10g, preferably 50mg-5g calculated as ajoene content per adult daily in he case of oral or intravenous administration and 1-1,000mug/ml, preferably 20-200mug/ml in the case of external preparation (especially ointment or suppository).
