METHOD FOR FEEDING POWER TO STAINLESS STEEL STRIP IN STAGE FOR CONTINUOUS HARDENING OF COLORED FILM OF STAINLESS STEEL STRIP

PURPOSE:To surely feed power to a stainless steel strip and to eliminate flaws such as spot-like uneven colors by sparking by feeding the power to the steel strip while stripping the colored films from the end faces at the edges which are not positioned in a treating liquid at the time of electrolytically treating a stainless steel strip by immersing in a treating liquid. CONSTITUTION:While the stainless steel strip 11 is passed in a coloring tank 3, the steel strip is immersed therein and the colored films are formed on the surfaces thereof. The steel strip 11 subjected to the formation of the colored films is then immersed into a hardening tank 5 contg. the treating liquid for hardening. While the colored films are stripped from the end faces at the edge parts of the steel strip 11 which are not positioned in the treating liquid, electric power is fed to the steel strip 11 from power feed plates 6 in contact with the stripped parts. Electrolysis is then executed with the steel strip 11 as a cathode, by which the colored films are subjected to hardening treatment.
