PURPOSE:To stably maintain toner electrifying amount at all times by regulating film thickness of one component developer on a developer holding member within a specific range by means of a developer regulating member and setting a space between an electrostatic latent image and the developer holding member below layer depth of developer. CONSTITUTION:The developer regulating member 4 sets the space between itself and the developer holding member 2 in order to attain layer thickness of developer at 200-250mum in a developing position. The space between the member 2 and an electrostatic latent image supporting member 1 in the developing position is set narrower than the thickness of developer so that developer can go through the surface of the member 1 by rubbing it. Therefore, electrifying amount is uniformly maintained regardless of a change in the developer surface due to agitation and the lowering in fluidity. In addition, unevennes of image density does not occur and stable image density is maintained. |
