METHOD FOR SUPPRESSING GENERATION OF IMAGE BLURRING OF ELECTROPHOTOGRAPHIC SENSITIVE BODY CONSISTING OF HYDROGENATED AMORPHOUS SILICON

PURPOSE:To allow the release, suction and removal of an active residual gas in a short period of time before the stop of a power source by inserting a tape-shaped shutter between a charger and a drum to increase the distance between the corotron charger and the drum. CONSTITUTION:The corona charger 1 and a transfer device 7 make turning motion around respective centers 2 and 8 of rotation while printing with printing paper is finished and the paper does not remain in paper feed tractor 6. The fall of the activated residual gas in a corotron casing is eventually prevented only in the specific region of the cylindrical shaft of the amorphous silicon drum 3 in a non-rotating state. The active gas in the corotron casing remaining to close the case upon ending of the printed image forming action is rapidly released and is discharged and diffused and, therefore, the direct fall of the active gas onto the amorphous silicon drum is decreased and the cause for the generation of image blurring which arises from the degradation in the printing life of the drum is suppressed.
