<p>PURPOSE:To ensure that there is no ink run, and that any sheet other than paper can be printed by providing ink consisting of a material which is liquid at normal temperature and turns to a solid resinlike material by cooling after heating, and heating the tip of a nozzle higher than a temperature which permits ink to become solid during printing. CONSTITUTION:The ink used is one which is liquid at normal temperature and turns to a solid resinlike material by cooling after heating, for example, a blend of a mixture of acrylic polyol, xylene and butyl acetate with a mixture of isocyanate and ethyl acetate. The ink 7 is introduced into an ink chamber 3 from an ink supply part 5, then is pressurized by action of a piezooscillator 4 and is ejected from the tip of a nozzle 2. In such a case, the ink is heated by a heating part 6 at the tip of the nozzle 2, so that acrylic polyol and an isocyanate compound undergo a chemical reaction resulting in the formation of a molten urethane resin. Subsequently, this resin becomes molten liquid 9 material, settling on an object to be printed 1, then these particles become solid by cooling and cured to form a dot-like fixed ink image 10.</p> |
