LAMINATED ARTICLE OF INTEGRATED VIBRATION PROOF TYPE AND MANUFACTURE THEREOF

PURPOSE: To damp noises and vibration by providing at least one layer of adhesively bonded viscoelastic damping polymer film bonded on at least one of the first and the second faces of a reinforced composite core and at least one metal sheet laminated on the layer. CONSTITUTION: A laminated structure 20 has a reinforced composite core 22 with a thickness hc. This reinforced composite core is pref. e.g. a fiber- reinforced metal matrix wherein aluminum or magnesium is a matrix or a particle-reinforced metal matrix wherein carbide particles are bonded with silicon. The flat core material 22 has two faces and a viscoelastic damping polymer film 24 is laminated on each face. Then, metal surface sheets each with a thickness hs, e.g. steel sheets 26 and 26' are laminated respectively on the viscoelastic damping polymer film 24. These laminated structures exhibit high estimated level for vibration-proof action for stopping noises generated e.g. by an instrument under supported condition.
