PURPOSE:To surely detect the trouble of an acceleration sensor by judging the trouble of the acceleration sensor when the output of the acceleration sensor exceeds the prescribed value corresponding to the traveling resistance when a clutch is in cut-off state or the gear position is at neutral position when brake is not applied. CONSTITUTION:A computer 15 judges the brake application state by a brake sensor 25, and when a brake is in OFF-state, the state of a clutch 21 is detected by a clutch stroke sensor 23. When the clutch 21 is in connection state, the gear position of a transmission 18 is read by a gear position sensor 24. When the clutch 21 is in cut-off state, or the transmission 18 is in neutral state, the output of an acceleration sensor 16 is read. When the brake is in OFF state, and the clutch 21 is cut-off state or the transmission 18 is in neutral state, if the acceleration sensor 16 outputs the value over the accelerating speed corresponding to the traveling resistance, the computer 15 judges that the acceleration sensor 16 itself is in trouble.
