PURPOSE:To provide a method for tissual metabolism examination, suitable for examination of tissue metabolism by using a picture-output means and pyruvic acid. CONSTITUTION:Pyruvic acid is dosed to a living body by intravenous injection, etc., and the informations about pyruvic acid metabolism in the tissue are visualized by a picture-output means. Based on the state of pyruvic acid metabolism in the tissue, the normal state or the abnormal state of pyruvic acid metabolism in the tissue is examined. By application of this method, pyruvic acid administered to the tissue shows different metabolic states corresponding to the normalcy or the abnormality of the tissue and the information about the difference in metabolic state are visualized by a picture-output means. Thus, the objective rapid and accurate examination about the normalcy or the abnormality of the tissual metabolism is possible.
