PURPOSE:To provide a multiple oxide having sufficiently high oil absorption and excellent moldability and suitable for use as the filler of paper. CONSTITUTION:This multiple oxide is represented by a formula iR2O.jAl2 O3.kTiO2.mSiO2.nH2O (where R is an alkali metal, 0.2<=j<=1.2, 0<=k<=0.9, j+k=1, 7<=m<=22 and 0<=n<=6), exhibits an amorphous state by X-ray diffraction and has 1.9-3.0cc/g total volume of pores having <=10<4>Angstrom pore radius.
