PURPOSE:To prevent instable traveling even if switching is made between engine drive mode and motor drive mode during turning. CONSTITUTION:The hybrid vehicle comprises an engine 11, a motor 15, an engine controller 42 controlling engine torque, a motor controller 46 controlling motor torque, and a mode switching means 7. The hybrid vehicle further comprises a travel condition detecting means 3 and means 4 for selecting mode depending on travel conditions. If a selected mode is different from a current mode, the selected mode is switched and if a turning amount detecting means 5 detects turning, a switching decision means 6 prohibits switching otherwise allows switching. Switching of mode may cause fluctuation of output torque and may produce impact, but turning is not carried out at that time thus preventing instable traveling at the time of turning. |
