PURPOSE:To realize high speed and high quality by employing at least two types of subscanning having different moving amounts and performing the recording such that the dots are not formed contiguously in subscanning direction at the time of continuous main scanning. CONSTITUTION:In the initial state, a recording head 10 is located at position 1 and forms recording dots 1 while moving in 1 head scanning direction and arrives at position 2 by moving (short skip) a distance two times as long as the interval of recording dot in the subscanning direction. The recording head 10 forms recording dots while moving in 2 head scanning direction. Similarly, the recording head 10 is moved to position 3(long skip) after formation of recording dots 3-5 and then performs the operations of head scanning 1-5 and the short and long skips thus forming recording dots represented by numerals enclosed in parentheses. Since the dots are not formed contiguously by the head scanning in main scanning direction, excellent print quality can be obtained. |
