A process and an apparatus for manufacturing a liquid pack (50) consisting of plastic are described, a web (56) of deformable plastic being drawn from a roller (55) and deformed to form two series of tub-shaped containers (I, II), the respective container then being filled, closed, individually separated and conveyed away.
<??>To permit mass production and manufacture involving as few and as simple processing and manufacturing steps as possible, the invention proposes that a pair of containers (I, II) lying next to one another in the conveying direction is shaped in such a way that in each case a border projecting outwards in the manner of a flange is formed transversely to the conveying direction (53) on the outer edges, lying on the outside in the conveying direction, of a respective pair of the upwardly open containers and between in each case two pairs (A and B) of containers (I, II) following each other in the conveying direction (53), that a hollow is formed in the region of the outer edge of each container in such a way that the border surrounds the hollow on the outside and is arranged in a plane and lying around the openings of the containers. A film of plastic (65) is drawn from a second roller (64) and sealed onto the border along the outer edge, the tube formed thereby is filled with liquid, the film of plastic (65) is also joined to the border by transverse sealing (in 70) and the web is cut and processed (in 71) in such a way that the containers (I, II) are brought together film against film and are welded to each other (in 73, 75) to form a pack (50).
