OPTICAL FIBER WITH COLLIMATOR AND OPTICAL ISOLATOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the need for delicate position adjustment and aligmnent work by providing an optical fiber with a fiber type collimating member which is formed by joining one end face of a single mode optical fiber and its first end face and of which the normal direction of its second end face intersects at a certain angle with the direction of the optical axis of the single mode optical fiber. SOLUTION: The light via the single mode optical fiber 110 arrives at an exit face 111 and is made incident radially at a GI type(graded index type) multimode optical fiber 210 from its incident surface 211. The signal light made incident on the GI type multimode optical fiber 210 is emitted from an exit surface 212 through the optical path meeting the incident angle. The exit surface 212 of this G1 type multimode optical fiber 210 inclines by an angle 82 with the axis X. Then, the backward advancing of the reflected light at the exit surface 212 through the optical path of the incident light is prevented and eventually the incidence of the reflected light on the single mode optical fiber 110 is effectively prevented.
