PURPOSE:To unnecessiate an optical connector, etc., by converting an electric signal into an optical signal by means of a connector externally attached by the electric connection or an interface function board when the communication equipments are connected to each other by the optical signal. CONSTITUTION:An electric/optical signal converting function part is incorporated in a cable connector 12, and the optical signal transmitted through a transmitting/receiving optical fiber 4 set between racks (communication equipments) is converted into an electric signal by the connector 12. The connector 12 is externally connected via a press-in pin 11 built into a back panel 10. Thus the electric signal is transmitted into a rack 1 and processed by a signal processing part 8 of a board 2 incorporated in the rack 1. The processed electric signal is transmitted to another board 2 in the rack 1 via an electric connector 9, the pin 11 and a back panel 8. Therefore it is not needed to lead the fiber 4 into the board 2 of the rack 1 nor to form any hole for an optical connector on the panel 10. |
