PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink-jet receiving element with rapid drying time, no crease on a paper and high optical density. SOLUTION: An ink-jet recording element containing a resin-coated paper substrate carrying an ink holding layer containing void cellulose fibers in a polymer binder is provided and the ink-jet recording element in which mass ratio of the above described void cellulose fibers to the above described polymer binder is 90:10-50:50 and length of the above described void cellulose fibers is 10-50 μm is provided.
