<p>Apparatus for prepayment water management includes an inlet (8) an outlet (9) for flowing water, a metering unit (6) for the flow of water therethrough, a regulator (5) to start and stop the flow of water, a data device interface (2) capable of receiving data from a data device (1) relating to customer identification and available credit, such data being transferable to a management station (13) for permissibility of a transaction based on available credit, the management station (13) being capable of recordal of a transaction, and means (3) to activate the regulator for a predetermined and permissible volume of water through the metering device (6). In preferred forms, the recordal of a transaction by the management station (13) is transferable back to the data device (1) for adjustment of available credit, the means (3) for activating the regulator is monitored and controlled by the management station (13), and the information regarding a transaction captured by the management station (13) is recorded and is capable of being printed out.</p> |
