FIELD: sealing technology. SUBSTANCE: end seal includes nonrotating sealing ring which is spring-loaded relative to rotating sealing ring provided with delivery member formed by tangential passages and flats alternating over circumference. Inlet of each tangential passage is made in form of confuser located at end of respective flat relative to sense of rotation of ring; outlet is located on cylindrical surface. During rotation of sealing ring, increased pressure is built up at end of flats relative to sense of rotation. Confuser entrapping liquid converts energy of pressure to energy of motion of liquid, thus accelerating it. Then liquid is additionally accelerated in tangential passage due to centrifugal forces, thus ensuring high rate of circulation of liquid. Availability of flats improves conditions for effective heat transfer; enhanced efficiency of lubrication of friction surfaces and liquid wedge; removal of wear products from zone of friction surfaces.
