PURPOSE:To rapidly drop a voltage of a circuit connected to a motor to a safety standard value or lower after a safety switch is turned open and results in an electrical interruption between a power source and a load. CONSTITUTION:Drive circuits, such as a polygon drive circuit 101, a laser drive circuit 102, and a main motor drive circuit 103, a clutch 105, a solenoid 106, an eraser 107, and other loads 108 are connected to a low-voltage power source 100. The drive circuits 101-103 and the loads 105-108 are separately appropriately driven in accordance with an output signal from a microcomputer. If a front cover is opened when a polygon mirror is rotated, a safety switch SW is turned open and results in an electrical cut of the drive circuits 101-103 and the loads 105-108 from the low-voltage power source 100, but the inertia rotation of the polygon mirror causes a polygon motor 110 to continue rotating. The microcomputer outputs a signal to the eraser 107 when the safety switch SW is turned open to actuate the eraser 107. |
