PURPOSE: To provide a method for preparing a high resolution wash-off image by using preferably an ink-jet print. CONSTITUTION: This method comprises sequential steps of (a) preparing a non- photosensitive layer comprising substantially a non-crystalline polymer selected from a group consisting of acid-contg. polymers having at lest 0.4 milliequivalents acid functional groups per gram of polymer and amine-contg. polymers having at least 0.4 milliequivalents amine functional groups per gram of polymer pref. on a substrate, (b) applying an aqueous ink comprising an aqueous carrier medium and a salt-forming agent imagewise to the non- photosensitive layer to form a salt of the polymer in the ink applied area and (c) washing the non-photosensitive layer with an aqueous soln. to remove the imaged area of the non-photosensitive layer.
