PURPOSE:To obtain the subject ink containing water and colorant as well as a specific amino alcohol compound, reduced in coagulation of head, capable of preventing deterioration of a head material, having high property for stabilizing dissolution of the colorant and free from clogging and discharge unevenness. CONSTITUTION:0.005 to 5.0wt.% amino alcohol compound expressed by formula I (R1 is 1-5C alkyl having hydroxyl group; R2 is H or 1-5C alkyl having hydroxyl group; R3 to R5 are 1-3C alkylene) or formula II (R6 is 1-5C alkylene; R7 and R8 are H or 1-5C alkyl having hydroxyl group) is added to ink for thermal ink jet obtained by blending colorant such as dye or pigment with an aqueous medium containing at least water, diethylene glycol, hydrochloric acid, etc., and further, as necessary, a penetrating agent for enhancing penetration of ink or surfactant, etc., for stabilizing a state where the colorant is dissolved and dispersed to provide the object ink for thermal ink jet capable of preventing deterioration of a head material, having high property for stabilizing dissolution of the colorant and free from clogging and discharge unevenness. |
