PURPOSE: An electron gun of color cathode ray tube is provided to reduce thermal deformation of electrodes, so that picture quality and color purity are improved by eliminating thermal convergence drift phenomenon, and white balance characteristic is improved by reducing difference between cutoff voltages. CONSTITUTION: Disclosed is an electron gun of inline type comprising a cathode, G1 electrode(100), G2 electrode, and G3 electrode confronted with the G2 electrode. Concave-convex(rE, rE', gE, gE', bE, bE') are formed on each electron beam through-holes(R/G/B) at least one of the G1 electrode(100), G2 electrode, and G3 electrode, so that thermal strength against a heater in the cathode is improved, and thermal deformation is reduced. Thereby, the picture quality and color purity are improved by eliminating thermal convergence drift phenomenon, and white balance characteristic is improved by reducing difference between cutoff voltages.
