METHOD FOR SCHEDULING CELLS BASED ON SPEED

PURPOSE: A method for scheduling cells based on speed is provided to prevent congestion inside of a switch module, by adjusting cell speed connected to the switch module on the basis of a report about back-pressure in an ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mode) exchange, and to control traffic to maintain fairness between connections. CONSTITUTION: A method for scheduling cells based on speed comprises the steps of: a first step of storing a connection number of an inputted cell in a sorting bin, corresponding to transmission time of the cell by scheduling the inputted cell; and a second step of transmitting cells of a connection buffer by reading the stored connection number. The first step comprises the steps of: storing the inputted cell and connection speed in the connection buffer; calculating CST(Cell Scheduling Time) by the connection speed of the cell; calculating and adjusting a difference value of the CST(CSTdiff) under the standard of the CST; calculating the difference value of the CST of the step 3 and the CST of a current cell of the step 2, as a compensating value of the CST; calculating a reference value of the CST(newCSTTref) by the compensating value of the CST; deciding a smallest fixed number as the sorting bin, among fixed numbers which are bigger than the newCSTTref; and searching an empty sorting bin after deciding the sorting bin, and storing the connection number in the sorting bin.
