PURPOSE: A step motor checking apparatus is provided to check a bad state of a motor by varying a driving frequency and an operation condition at driving. CONSTITUTION: A step motor checking apparatus comprises an abnormal generation sensing counter (30) which performs a down counting in response to a pulse signal(EN_OUT) from an encoder at a normal operation of a motor(M). A display part(32) displays a count value of the abnormal generation sensing counter(30). A power generating part(34) supplies a power to the abnormal generation sensing counter(30), a drive pulse generation and counter(36), a motor driving part(40) and the motor(42). The drive pulse generation and counter(36) has an initial value set by a checking man, and performs a down counting to generate a drive pulse. The motor driving part(40) drives the motor(42) in response to the pulse signal from the drive pulse generation and counter(36). A rotation direction of the motor(42) is changed according to a state of a switch(SW).
