摘要 PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for controlling a capstan motor in a slow mode of a magnetic record regenerator is provided to change a duty of a driving current control pulse by supplying a reverse rotating driving current differently in accordance with a predetermined time using a capstan motor. CONSTITUTION: A control head(50) reproduces and outputs a control pulse recorded per one frame of a video signal at the lower end portion of a magnetic tape. A servo unit(52) controls for making a magnetic tape move at fixed velocity and phase by responding to a control pulse being inputted from the control head(50). A control unit(54) senses a termination of on-time of a capstan motor normal rotating pulse, and makes a capstan motor reverse rotating pulse be outputted after a delay is performed for a set time if a control pulse inputted from the control head(50) is existed. In addition, the control unit(54) changes and outputs a duty ration of a capstan driving current control pulse after on-time of the outputted reverse rotating pulse is maintained for a predetermined time. A motor rotating control pulse is inputted to a capstan motor driving unit(56) for no reverse rotation of the capstan motor and for offsetting a normal rotating force for stopping the capstan motor being rotated normally.
