PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a metallocene complex capable of giving highly stereoregularα-olefin polymers with reduced heterobonds at industrially practi cable polymerization temperatures. SOLUTION: This polymerization catalytic component forα-olefin polymerization comprises a transition metal complex of the general formula (R1 is H, a halogen or hydrocarbon group; Q is a binding group; M is a group 3, 4, 5 or 6 transition metal atom; X is H, a halogen or hydrocarbon group; n is the valence number of M; R2 and R3 are each a 3-30C saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbon group, wherein at least one of R2 and R3 forms a seven-membered ring or larger ring), an ion-exchangeable layered compound, a cocatalytic component such as inorganic silicate, and optionally, an organoaluminum compound.
