PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively absorb neutrons, store a used fuel with high density and reduce the cost of a structural material. SOLUTION: This fuel assembly storage device wherein a plurality of partition plates 13 are inserted in a cylindrical metal basket 16 vertically and laterally along the axial direction to form a plurality of angularly cylindrical fuel cells 12 in lattice shape, comprises neutron absorbers 19 installed between each of the fuel cells 12, arranged opposing one another in almost cross spaces 18, shown by bold lines, enveloping two XY axes traverse to a center point C in a section view, having a width equivalent to at least two bodies of the fuel cell 12 and extending linearly in the radial direction, and each of the partition plates 13. The partition plates 13 constituting the fuel cells 12 in the cross spaces 18 are fixed to the inner face of the metal basket 16 with a reinforcing frame material.
