摘要 PURPOSE: To carry out highly precise detection of a fluid phase boundary in a transparent measuring tube by installing a radiation device for irradiating a light to the measuring tube and a photoreception device for detecting the light transmitted through the measuring tube. CONSTITUTION: A irradiation device 15 has a light scattering device 13 for irradiating scattered light to a detection section 8 of a measuring tube 9. A light diffusing surface 14a of the light scattering device 13 is formed in parallel to the upstanding tube 11. At least one light source 12 is installed in a side part of a fogged glass plate 14. The photoreception device 17 comprises an optical imaging system 18 to form an image of the upstanding tube 11 in an image plane 19, a CCD element 21, and a row 20 of photosensing elements. An electronic central unit 5 comprises a date processing unit 5 for a detection means 2, a gas pump 4, and a control unit 6 for a switching valve unit 3. The output signal of the CCD element 21 is sent to a data processing unit 7 and the position of the fluid phase boundary 10 in the measuring tube 9 is automatically detected.
