PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the stability of landing at zone boundaries of an optical recording medium. SOLUTION: This optical recording medium is formed by dividing its recording surface to plural zones, discontinuously arranging the headers arranged continuously in a diametral direction within the same zones at the zone boundaries, arranging the headers so as to share the same in lands and grooves and has a recording format to record data in both of the lands and the grooves. The headers are grouped by removing the headers arranged in the ranges above three physical tracks on the basis of the zone boundaries, by which the generation of noise in the tracking error signals near the sections from the noise which is the reference for landing to the pull-in of tracking servo is prevented. The stability of lancing at the zone boundaries is thus improved. |
