PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a telephone set having a function of telephone directory with image information in which image information and telephone number can be registered in the telephone directory without requiring mutual agreement or keying. SOLUTION: When a telephone set 1 begins communication in video telephone mode with an opposite party 2, dynamic image compression data is received at the receiving section 15 from the opposite party 2 having a dynamic image encoder 18 through a communication network 16. If the user of the telephone set 1 performs an input operation corresponding to a shutter or the like, when the received dynamic image compression data is being decoded continuously by a dynamic image decoder 13 and displayed, one frame of the image data decoded at that timing is taken into a still image encoder 11 and encoded as still image compression data. At the same time, a destination telephone number detecting section 14 detects the telephone number of the current opposite party 2 which is then stored in a telephone directory 10 along with the still image compression data. |
