MAGNETIC SCANNING PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL AND METHOD FOR DRIVING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A magnetic scanning plasma display panel and method for driving the same is provided to reduce number of driving circuits and minimize power consumption, while preventing deterioration of contrast. CONSTITUTION: A magnetic scanning plasma display panel comprises a display region(54) where data electrodes and scan/sustain electrodes are disposed perpendicular to each other so as to display images; and a scanning region(52) having scan/sustain electrodes, and which causes a scanning discharge for sequentially selecting the scan/sustain electrode. The display region includes a common sustain electrode formed in parallel to the scan/sustain electrode. A method for driving a magnetic scanning plasma display panel, comprises a first step of arranging a display region and a scanning region; and a second step of causing a scanning discharge in the scan region so as to sequentially select the scan/sustain electrode during an address period for displaying images.
