PURPOSE: A touch pad device of a portable computer with convenient maintenance is provided to minimize a component part number of entire touch pad device by forming a touch pad housing to a key deck as one body and using no fixing tool, and facilitate maintenance of a pad assembly by removing a pad cover on an upper side of the key deck. CONSTITUTION: A touch pad housing(50) is inserted/formed to the upper side of the key deck(37) forming an upper appearance of a main body. The pad assembly(60) is received to the inside of the touch pad housing and is equipped with the touch pad(61). The pad cover(70) is combined to the touch pad housing by hooks(76) at the upper side of the key deck. A touch pad receiving space(52) and a button receiving space(53) are formed to the touch pad housing. Combining holes(55) held by the hooks of the pad cover are formed around an edge of the touch pad housing. A cable hole(56) passing a cable for connecting signals between the pad assembly and a mainboard is formed to one side of the touch pad housing.
