<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent increase of hydrogen gas concentration in the surrounding of a vehicle, and improve safety by determining whether or not the environment of the surrounding of the vehicle in which a fuel cell is mounted is the environment where a fuel gas is easily accumulated when it is the environment where the fuel gas is easily accumulated, by not discharging the fuel gas into the atmosphere when degree of easiness of accumulation is high, and by discharging the fuel gas into the atmosphere by reducing the concentration of the fuel gas when the degree of easiness of accumulation is low. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell in which an electrolyte layer is pinched by a fuel electrode and an oxygen electrode has a fuel cell stack which is laminated by pinching a separator in which a fuel gas flow passage is formed along the fuel electrode, and is mounted on the vehicle, has a purge means to carry out purge by diluting the fuel gas in the fuel gas flow passage, has an environmental information acquiring means to acquire the information related to the environment of the surrounding of the vehicle, and has a control means to make the purge means carry out the purge by changing the concentration of the fuel gas based on the acquired information related to the environment of the surrounding of the vehicle. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
