PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of compression-molded timber capable of easily changing a grain line exposed to the surface and to provide a compression-molded timber made by the method. SOLUTION: The compression-molded timber 1 is manufactured by cutting out a blank member 4 from a base material, the blank member protruding in the direction crossing the direction of the wooden fiber of the matrix material and having a smooth outer curvature surface 4a and a smooth inner surface 4b, the curvatures being different from those of a bottom mold surface 5c and a bottom mold surface 5a respectively, and compression-molding the blank member 4 with a cope and drag molds 5A, 5B.
