PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid-state image pickup element in which a color filter is arranged in each pixel so that a high-resolution image can be acquired, and to provide an solid-state image pickup device. SOLUTION: In the solid-state image pickup element 210, each pixel 212 is configured by combining a main photosensitive portion 214 having an optical sensor of an area enough to obtain incident light at high sensitivity and a sub-photosensitive portion 216 having an optical sensor of an area smaller than that of the main photosensitive portion 214 in order to obtain incident light at low sensitivity. The main photosensitive portion 214 is provided with a primary color filter 220 and the sub-photosensitive portion 216 is provided with a complementary color filter 224, and a main image signal and a sub-image signal are outputted from the photosensitive portions 214 and 216, respectively, thereby obtaining an image having high sensitivity and high reproducibility. A sub-microlens 222 in the sub-photosensitive portion 216 is formed to be small to give a margin to a pixel layout and pixels can be preferentially arranged. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
