PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a chain oil for an escalator, which has excellent adhesion to a chain, a long oil supply interval due to long-term maintenance of adhesion effect, excellent lubricating properties, slight oil scattering and reduced change in color. SOLUTION: The chain oil for an escalator comprises at least one kind selected from a mineral oil, oils and fats and a synthetic oil as a base oil, (A) a polymer compound having 100,000-1,000,000 weight-average molecular weight and (B) a phenol-based antioxidant.
