An ink backflow preventive for water-base ball pens which comprises a sparingly volatile and/or nonvolatile organic liquid and a gellant and has been regulated so as to have an oil separation of 1-15% under specific conditions, wherein the gellant comprises at least two thermoplastic styrene elastomers as a gellant, the thermoplastic styrene elastomers having the same molecular structure and differing in average molecular weight. ® KIPO & WIPO 2007
