PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a position of a communication device whose position is unknown even if it is unable to obtain at least three distances in between three communication devices whose positions are already known, when the communication device whose position is unknown executes communication with at least three communication devices whose positions are already known. SOLUTION: A position detection system 10 includes the communication devices P0, P1, P2, and P3 whose positions are already known, the communication devices Q4, Q5, Q6, Q7, Q8, Q9, Q10, Q11, Q12, Q13, Q14, and Q15 whose positions are unknown, a processor 12, and a storage device 14; and detects each position of the communication devices whose positions are unknown that exist in a region 16. Each communication device measures intensity of a received radio wave and a delay of the radio wave so as to send them to the processor 12. The processor 12 calculates a distance between the communication devices from measured values so as to prepare the shortest route via the communication device whose position is unknown, from one communication device whose position is already known to the other communication device whose position is already known by using the distance.
