PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display a map which facilitates intuitive recognition thereof by improving the roughness of a road display or the like. SOLUTION: There are arranged an information memory means (3) which has map data stored having positional coordinates, a control means (4) which reads out the map data stored in the information memory means and converts the positional coordinates thereof into coordinates of a grating point defined by a grating to obtain discrete positional coordinates, and a display means (6) for displaying a map based on the coordinates obtained from the conversion by the control means, the control means setting the width of the grating according to a scale of the map.
