PURPOSE:To measure the lowest temperature in a day accurately while preventing consumption of a battery by calculating the time of sunrise based on the latitude and longitude information of a measuring point and date information and then measuring the temperature at the time of sunrise or a predetermined time earlier. CONSTITUTION:A CPU 4 calculates sunrise and sunset times at a point designated by measuring time and latitude/altitude information according to a program stored in a ROM 7 and stores the sunrise and sunset times thus calculated in a ROM 8. A temperature detecting circuit 2 is driven at the sunrise time of the measuring point, at a predetermined time before sunrise and at a predetermined time to measure the lowest point at the measuring point and the temperature at the predetermined time and the measurements are stored in a RAM 8. Furthermore, a display drive circuit 9 is driven to present current time and temperature data stored in the RAM 8 on a display section 10. A relatively long time interval is set between temperature measurements in order to prevent consumption of battery. |
