PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for inspecting accurately a defect formed on a ferromagnetic heat exchanger tube of a part of a baffle or a support provided outside the ferromagnetic heat exchanger tube such as a reactor, a heat exchanger or a boiler. SOLUTION: The method of inspecting defects formed on the ferromagnetic heat exchanger tube of the part of the baffle or the support provided outside the ferromagnetic heat exchanger tube has a characteristic wherein the inside of the ferromagnetic heat exchanger tube is scanned and inspected by using a probe equipped with a magnetic circuit for magnetizing an inspection part of the ferromagnetic heat exchanger tube with a magnetic flux density of 0.7-1.0 tesla and a leakage magnetic flux sensor.
