PREPARATION OF FLAT DISPLAY SCREEN AND TRANSMISSION COLOR FILTER

PURPOSE: To compensate unevenness in luminous flux supplied by a light source by a simpler means than the previous. CONSTITUTION: The transmission color filter 22 has transparent substrates 12 and 14 and a mosaic of color pixels provided on the surfaces of the substrates. The color pixels are formed of at least tricolored emulsion. The emulsion has optical concentration which is variable over the surfaces of the substrates, so as to compensate for the spatial variation of lighting by the light source. A filter 22 is used, together with a flat driving cell, having control electrodes for prescribing a two-dimensional matrix of pixels for constituting the flat display panel.
