A terminal and a controlling method thereof are provided to use personal identification by fingerprint recognition, personal identification by iris recognition, and personal identification by voice recognition, while learning contents are reproduced. A terminal reproduces learning contents(S610). A user authentication procedure is performed at least once(S620). It is decided whether user authentication is successful by the user authentication procedure(S630).
