PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic transistor which has high mobility, a large current on/off ratio, and superior storage stability. SOLUTION: The organic transistor has an organic semiconductor layer, which contains at least one kind of compound expressed by general formula (1). In the formula, X1 to X8 independently represent a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a straight-chain, branched or cyclic alkyl group, a straight-chain, branched or cyclic alkoxy group, or a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group, a ring A represents a substituted or unsubstituted benzo[b]thiophene ring, and a ring B represents a substituted or unsubstituted benzene ring, a substituted or unsubstituted thiophene ring, or a substituted or unsubstituted benzo[b]thiophene ring.
